Praised as a "deft" (The Telegraph) pianist with “exceptional talent” (The Daily Telegraph), “commanding the stage with panache” (The Evening Standard), Australian-born Chinese pianist Daisy Ou has performed throughout Australia, the United States, United Kingdom and Europe.

She received her Masters of Music with Distinction, studying with Senior Professor Joan Havill at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama as a recipient of The Herbert & Theresie Lowit Memorial Scholarship. She also received her Bachelor of Music (Hons) at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, after being admitted directly into BMus2. She has received grants to study abroad from The Sidney Perry Foundation, The Youth Music Foundation of Australia Inc. and The Zetland Foundation.

Most recent engagements in 2024 include touring with Pegasus Opera Company and performing alongside The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2022, she performed and acted in The Bridge Theatre’s production of Henry Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman as the character of Frida Foldal — a girl who comes to realise her potential as a pianist and leaves home to pursue her dreams. Notable cast members included Sir Simon Russell Beale, Lia Williams and Clare Higgins. The production was directed by Sir Nicholas Hytner.

In 2023, she was invited to tour with Lincoln Center Stage piano quartet onboard Holland America Liner in partnership with RWS Entertainment Group NYC.

As a member of the recently formed The London Piano Duo with pianist, Connor Heraghty, they won First Prize at The 4th Recondite Armonie International Piano Competition in Italy. They not only showcase four-hand repertoire, but also collaborate with other artists to create cross-disciplinary programmes that are interactive and immersive. In 2024, they received the maximum grant from The Guildhall Future Fund to workshop projects in schools and promote music education, specifically targeting communities with less or no access to live music.

In 2021, Daisy’s academic research paper on “Exploring Music As A Psychological Function In Theatre” was nominated for The Rose Lawrence Horners’ Award.

She has performed in masterclasses with Michel Béroff, Robert McDonald, John Perry, Nelson Delle Vigne Fabbri, Boaz Sharon, Paul Roberts, Vladimir Feltsman and Alexander Korsantia. Her previous teachers include Margaret Hair, Robert Roux and Natalia Sheludiakova. She has also broadcasted multiple programs on radio station Fine Music 102.5FM, both as a presenter and as a soloist.

In her pedagogical education and experience, Daisy has worked with World Heartbeat Academy, Merton Music Foundation, as well as Decoda Ensemble in creating workshops for a wide variety of ages, stages and contexts. She has also been invited as an adjudicator for competitions in the UK.

Daisy received the Arts Council of England endorsement and has full right to work in the UK on the Global Talent Visa. She is currently represented by the Arts & Entertainment Talent agency SiDonald Ltd.
